4/3/2014

I had time yesterday, to take a close look at the lighting arrangement in the trailer. I found there are nine different lighting zones in the living room, with additional lights inside some of the cabinets and one in the bottom of the convection oven that lights the cooktop. There are floor lights for the stairs plus a light in the hallway above the washer/dryer. In the bathroom, there's a light in the middle of the ceiling, one in the shower, one over the vanity plus accent lighting around the top of the vanity and a small light under the cabinet that's over the stool. The bedroom has main ceiling lighting, separate reading lights for each side of the bed, accent lights above the cabinets at the head of the bed, a light for the vanity and a couple of lights in the closet. There are also lights in the washer and dryer cabinets that come on when you open the door. I haven't checked what all lights are on the outside of the coach but there's a lot out there too.

We got the door to the cathouse back from the carpentry shop today and installed it. They did a nice job of cutting it out and finishing the edges.

A little later, Tucker decided he needed to use it. He got the hang of it on the first try.

Had a thunderstorm again last night. It started about 9:00. Lasted no more than an hour. There were no more than five seconds between lightening flashes for the first 45 minutes. Rain got harder and harder, then about half way through got about ten minutes of hail the size of nickels. Fortunately, it didn't damage the truck or trailer, but it was plenty noisy. It sounded like we were inside a popcorn popper with all the kernels going off around us.

I kind of liked it (at least it was an interesting new experience). Penny not so much. She doesn't seem to like wind, thunder, lightening, heavy rain, hail, etc., yet she talked about the constant lightening with an air of interest. Tucker handled it surprisingly well but he wanted to be next to us, not in is hidey-hole.

We're supposed to take our test drive this morning and be parked inside the building for a day or two while they work on a couple issues that need to be done in warm and dry conditions (mostly a little paint touch up). Our replacement cook top has arrived and will be installed today.
