4/15/2014

Now that I'm no longer as tired as I was yesterday, I found that I had not actually deleted all of the photos from yesterday. So, here are the photos I meant to include in yesterday's blog.

This doesn't do justice to the ice and snow on the trailer, but it gives you an idea of the weather overnight.

The photo below gives you an idea of the road conditions in northern Kansas from Norton to the Nebraska border due south of North Platte.

Then we crossed the border into Nebraska and all the roads looked like you see below, from then on.

Below is a photo of one of the snow drifts Penny liked so much.

The snow thinned out after we turned onto Highway 26 at North Platte.

Chimney Rock in Western Nebraska, near Scottsbluff.

Then we get to see more snow in Wyoming, but no problems with the roads.

Now for today's drive.

We left Casper around 9am and took a side road to the north end of the town, to avoid the traffic on I-25 through town. Got gas in Sheridan Wyoming, Billings and Livingston Montana. Penny got photos of a few Pronghorn antelope between Casper and Sheridan.

We got to Gardiner at 6:30, just as it started to snow. We saw many bison, white tail deer, elk and a few mountain goats between Livingston and Gardiner but the clouds made it too dark to get any good photos of them. It was a very beautiful drive this afternoon. Just before dark, five white tail deer nibbled on the grass around the back of our trailer. Our campsite backs up to the river, but it was too dark to take pictures this evening.

We'll be here in the Yellowstone RV park while we participate in a week of training, then we will make our final move for the next six months, to Madison campground inside Yellowstone National Park.

For now, we have spotty 3G cell coverage. Once we get to Madison, we will not have cell phone coverage. We will have to drive to a location that has it, so blogs and cell phone calls will be fewer and father betweener.
